It's always good to see threads run on topic - and most of them do here. However I've noticed recently that one thread in particular seems to be going off-topic. In Politics, Ethics and Miscellaneous we have a thread on Chefs . I've joined in a little in the spirit of friendliness - hoping Admin moves the thread to Break-room soon....

I have also asked to have it moved but Admin has not obliged.
Maybe he is away on his hols. Even moderators need a break sometime !

For David, let me try and get the Chefs thread 'on topic' or more correctly justify it sitting in the miscellaneous slot. (Shy here).
Pete's description of his practice is very similar to mine. However as much as we strive to cure and discharge we all end up with some palliative care cases.
So what do other Pods talk to these people about, in my case I've known some for over 15 years.
Do Pods 'let them into their lives'?
For me over the years there have been lots of changes, the latest beeing moving into rearing food animals.
So the big question becomes 'Oh how can you kill them?'
Discussing this with Veggie SOW has been a learning oppertunity for me.
Never too old to learn Shy (the dork).

David, you are welcome, but obviously the explanation did not work for you.
However your almost 'quote' is a perfect example of selectively taking a section of a post out of context to try and score a point.
It never worked in the past and I doubt it will in the future, and it irritates Pete.
This IMO does not constitute debate or discussion, more akin to bickering.
Shy and retiring probably.

I'm not trying to score points - simply trying to illustrate how off-topic this all is.
Great in the Break-Room, but has nothing to do with Politics, Ethics and Misc (which I presume relates to Politics and Ethics).
Which is why I believe this is a pertinent thread for the Forum Mechanics Board.
However, as has already been pointed out (by yourself I believe?) I'm no longer the owner and don't run things here, so please see this as a bit of constructive interfering.
I'm sure a Mod will be along in a bit to help us out.

Look David I really do not want to pursue this bicker, but I'm fed up with you getting things wrong.

Apologies for reconstructing your post but I have looked back over all Seeker posts, (this really is a sophisticated forum) and no seeker especially Shy has ever said the above.

Ok I have to take you at your word, but these are early days for Robert's new Forum and some of us new nervous posters are feeling our way. perhaps you could cut us some slack?
I'm sure a Mod will be along in a bit to help us out.
Hopefully but would it not be better if adults sorted out their own problems?
Shy.

No, Shy you did not say that, it looks like something I would say as I am getting more than a little fed up with the now redundant Head Honcho putting his sticky beak in where it is not required. I can't be bothered to go back through all the posts to check if I did say it or not and quite frankly I don't care if I did, as I'm not taking it back. Every time I look at this forum, posts are being moved about all over the place and David seems to have lost the plot. I think I'll re-register as "Acid Drop", as all this is enough to give anyone a peptic.

Hi Shy, I apologise - I didn't get the wording quite right and the post was from Sow (but quoted by youself). I knew it was from one of you SeekersofWisdom . He/she said: "just fed up with him still acting likes he still owns the forum and trying to stifle free speech/debate." So - different wording, but similar sentiment. Davidh

David you are absolutely correct, as ever.
My humble and grovelling apologies for ever doubting your ultimate correctness.
Will you now get off my back and perhaps generate an interesting subject related to Podiatry for us lesser beings to learn from.
Shy. (One of those Seekersofwisdom, dork, and idiot, with a failing memory)
By the way I'm very impressed with the changing thingies below your name.
