Podopaediatrics Day Course

Dear all.

By popular request am happy to announce the next “Biomechanics Sunday School” to follow on from the foundation biomechanics day.

The topic for this one is “Podopaediatrics” It will be held on Sunday 30th November. The aim is to equip the practitioner to confidently assess and treat younger patients from walking age to 18 years old.

The day will be split into 4 sessions

Introduction to Paediatrics
Paediatric assessment, how does it differ from adult assessment
Approaching the paediatric patient
Managing parental expectation

Severe / Medical Podopaediatrics
The Paediatric foot in Downs, Cerebral Palsy, Autism etc
Surgical appliance options, Above Ankle Orthotics such as AFO’s, Specialist footwear.

Everyday Paediatrics
Managing the hypermobile child, Ethics, Evidence and Experience
Common Paediatric presentations, Heel pain, Severs, Leg pain, Knee Pain, In toeing, toe walking.

Interactive Session,
Case Studies discussion etc

The Venue for this session will be the Village Hotel Maidstone

This is conveniently located at Junction 6 of the M 20. The course will be catered, with hot drinks on arrival and during morning and afternoon recess. A finger buffet lunch is also provided.

The cost of this course will be £85. However an early booking discount is available. Book Before the end of September and the cost will be £75. The same discounted rate of £75 is also available to customers of Footprints Orthotic Solutions.

Gonna have to do some bargaining with my accountant here. He did my books for last year (for college & Uni kids stuff) and i spent a LOT on CPD . This and the fact that it`s the weekend before the Societies conf in Bournemouth does not make him happy....deserting the family home, etc.

Sorry, I can't make this one either, I will have just come out of hospital ( :oeeek). Will be seeing the other side of the coin so to speak . They say nurses make the worst patients.

The main complaint this time seems to be

I am not saying that we shouldn"t be aware of treatment for children, but should we be treating them? Why should they pay for treatment that is offered for free?

So i hope no one out there is treating diabetics or doing nail surgery!

Nope can't have that

In my area to get to a paediatric pod I have to go through the channels to reach an orthopaedic consultant who decides ( the cheapest IMO) way of providing orthoses/ surgery for the child.

Most are the worst "simple orthotic" imaginable because they never reach the pod and should they want a repeat or re assessment they have to go through the same waiting list again from the start.

No wonder parents want he kids treated properly and in an acceptable timescale

It really is farcical that all the vitriol on TFS against Robert who is the only one as far as I know that has got the bottle AND THE BRAIN to try and move the sorry bastards ( trolls ) into the real world and make some attempt at sorting out this sad profession

I am successful make loadsamoney and DO THE JOB PROPERLY

Perhaps the trollits might like to reconsider their position against that and STFU ??

Put me down for your day mate whenever it is I at least would like to publicly thank you for sharing your vast experience and knowledge with me to move my practice even further forward
