Hello I was wondering what the best medical dictionary would be to buy for my practice. I currently have a basic student medical dictionary (and t'internet) but feel a hard copy would be useful as no internet access in clinic (as yet). Thanks Podmum

Hi Podmum,
Dictionary preferences are a personal thing I find.
I use a Butterworths Medical Dictionary, Ed: Mcdonald Crtichley.
Its about the size of a breezeblock ;D and is very comprehensive.

Or try Dorland's Illustrated Medical dictionary. Once you can get past the Americanisms, eg. hematology for haematology, gee it's fine man. It's big, it's cheap and it's got piccies!
All the best

Bet you won't post that on Podiatry Arena (even assuming you're not speaking of American ladies!)!
