Last night watched a TV programme on back problem, what surprise me was 5 steroid injections costing ₤1500.00.
How much should pods charge patients for injection therapy?

Hi Somuz,
Martin H has a fairly robust feescale for injection therapy. He'll be along in a bit to tell you more ;D

£1500 Each or all together? If this is alltogether i'm surprised its not more! If its each then it seems a mite steep! The thing is they are not paying for the injection. They are paying for the time, training, expertise, insurance, premises etc etc of the person giving the injection, none of which comes cheap! One also has to consider the increased risk of litigation which comes with a more invasive proceedure. £300? Cheap at the price. Regards Robert PS Don't think this means i support you capitalist dogs, Come the revolution that Merc is mine .

Unfortunately, you fail to provide sufficient information for an objective judgement to be made.
Were the injections carried out in a operating theatre? Does the fee include the hospital fee or just the consultant's fee? Does the fee include the cost of the drug? What were the injections for specifically? Where were the injections placed?
The problem with 'what you see on T.V.' is that the stories are invariably dramatic but the facts are invariably sparse. Is it not part of our modus operandi that we make judgements on the basis of facts rather than the outpourings of enthusiasts?
