Anyone know of any good pubs in the Heathrow area, which serve humungous pies on shovels with a lively atmosphere?

Shame you won't be going now Derek.
I've just posted on the Arena that I've found a Premier Inn and Holiday Inn Express on the Bath Road, just outside Heathrow Airport, which are 5 mins from the Hilton I'm sure. Premier Inn is (I can't remember which way round it is) £54 and Holiday Inn Express is £46.80 (w/o breakfast). Not sure whether that's +tax but, even so, alot cheaper than the Hilton at £116 +tax a night. I'd love to stay there but like Derek, got more courses I want to do this year.
Anyway, when we know for definite.......

Look sorry guys, I'm as p****d off about it as you are coz I was really looking forward to it I cannot believe it is a tour advertised for months in advance and I have booked and paid for the gig and STILL with only 4 weeks to go the venue cannot be confirmed THE VENUE IS NOT DEFINITE AS YET Because of the " Hilton booking team " according to CP has a few problems because of the "holidays". I would want to stay in the hotel of the venue because in that area the traffic is at a standstill most of the time and if your somewhere else, the after course banter and discussion is lost. The money is not the issue , I just wont pay for something at twice the price when I could have got it at half the price if normal circumstances prevailed. I have a CPD budget and will not exceed it for any reason and forward planning is the key to an efficiant practice IMHO and this flies in the face of that principle. Again sorry guys I hope you all have a super time and please "enjoy it for me" I will be thinking of you Cheers D

Great Del, was thinking how we'll miss your pithy one liners. And you of course ;D
Will try and find out some info for eating venues nearby, don't know about 'lively' though Bel.
