Renia ortec is what you want if you are doing it without a fairly serious fume extraction system.
Big up 'spect to the beddington massive init. Keep it real homey.

Del
The best all purpose glue I have found is Timebond made by Evo-Stick and available from Homebase. It seems to be good for pretty much any material to any other material. Its not a contact adhesive so you can remove and replace the components if you don't get it right first time. I find top covers rarely come off but if you need to strip to re-cover when its worn, or whatever bit that's glued that you want to remove, then a bit of hot air will release the glue.

I have problems with covers also - heel cups and by the toes.
So you recommend the renia and gripsotite cement?
Any particular process you also suggest over and above?

I definately recommend renia ortec rather than gripsotite. They work as well but renia is soooooo much easier to use!
Process wise its pretty standard. Make sure the glue is fresh, A bouy and brush is a good way to keep it that way, apply sparingly, if needed use two coats and don't rush letting it dry before sticking it down. If the material you are using is porous you might need to use two coats and / or hammer hell out of it once bonded.
A good tip for cleaning is to use an old suit. Glue sticks infinitly better to those than to any other material in existance so a quick wave of a jacket or set of trousers will cause all glue in the room to leap from whatever surface its stuck to onto the suit.
