I really appreciate this thread, Robert. Thanks me dear.
;D
Thank YOU. Glad you find it useful.
I love your template system, previously I would have only marked a lesion but marking the arch, forefoot and heel is cool.
Mucking about with the lab tech (who wears full length casted devices with a varus RF post and valgus FF post) I used your template approach PLUS I also measured the height of the medial arch in relaxed stance.
From the we mad her a valgus with 1st ray groove - height 16mm poron, 3.2 poron lateral midfoot padding finishing behind mets 2-5. 3 degree varus RF wedge medial to the heel bisection. Result - total comfort all day. Good!

Ah the flexibility of the blank canvas! Nice to see somebody else thinking outside the box where simples are concerned. As KK says, ANYTHING place under the foot can affect foot function!
What is a pre-met rocker??
Sagital plane Mod. Good for delaying forefoot loading, treating structural HL and limited dorsiflexion in digits, and improving sagital plane fluidity in patients with that flappy foot hits the ground flat and lifts as flat gait (you know the one i mean).
Couple of ways to do it. The thing i made del (thread in Biomx) i would describe as a midfoot rocker. The usual way i make a pre met rocker is to put a 5 degree (or more) EVA wedge on the underside of the insole just proximal to the met heads. The exact angle varies depending on what angle you want them to pivot. So for EG if they have a lesion sub 5th met head i might angle the rocker so they toe off more medially or vice versa.
In deference to Dave's pickyness I did the diagram on paint this time.
Hope that clarifies
Regards
Robert
