WARNING!! PLUG AHEAD!!! Footprints orthotics solutions is the company i use (ok, and run ) for production of simple insoles as discussed www.davidmhol.proboards29.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=bioed&thread=1206824670&page=1here. If anyone would like any more information or a templating pack please e mail footprintsorthotics@googlemail.com. The templating packs contain a full set of cardboard templates (mens and womens) a lipstick for marking the landmarks (I cannot promise you'll like the colour), a crib sheet with samples of all the materials and a breif description of their properties, and a prescription form. This is never going to be blue chip company, its a very small operation and i only make insoles for people i know / trust. So if i know you thats fine ;D. Regards Robert

Got it this Morning. Could'nt make a head OR a tail of it. Did make this rather attractive camel though. ;D But seriously. Smudging is pretty much inevitable and is rarely a problem. I've gotten quite good at reading smudges. The template is fine! Insoles should be with you by Monday. Cheers M8 Robert

Now the MD, production team, union rep, tea boy, IT support department and supplies dept (me) is back off paternity leave and the MD, finance dept, HR dept, and front office staff (herself) is back of maternity leave, Footprints Orthotics are proud, in a slightly embarrassed type of way, to announce a NEW SERVICE offered to our most valued customers (ie all of them).
The present system is fairly standard for an orthotics lab. A prescription form upon which you put your requirements, a template to ensure accuracy and a number to call if clarification is required. The insole you get, for good or ill, is the insole you request. That service will still be offered at the same absurdly small price it was before.
However we now offer the Consult package, developed to meet the demands of the existing clientel and now rolled out to all.
If you are unfamilier with the materials, unsure of what design to use or dubious as to the accuracy of your templates try this one.
Step one Fill in a truncated prescription form. Much simpler, all i really need is your name and contact number, the patients name and how much room there is to play with in the shoes.
Step two Mark out a few simple landmarks on the foot. And by simple i mean 1st met head, 5th met head and where any lesions might be. Don't worry if they are not exactly in the right spot, it won't matter! Take a print on the base provided.
Step three Take a digital photo of the feet (post markings) planter aspect and weight bearing.
And thats basically it! You email me the photos and send me the templates. When i get them i will give you a quick phone call and discuss your requirments, then i design and make the insoles for you and send them back, usually within the week.
The real beauty of this is that you CANNOT go wrong. If the markings are in the wrong place i will see from the photos and adjust the position accordingly for the insoles. If you have a good idea on design we can use it. If you have no idea what to use i can do the design for you.
All for an extra £5.
Kind regards Robert

Hi Robert, Pt REALLY pleased with insoles (Said he would have preferred red leather though ) He loves the "squishy, squashy feel". I like the deflecting device. Brilliant stuff, will be sending you more smudges on bits of cornflake packets in future. Thanks muchly. Bel

Everybody wins Best orthotic in the world don't work if the patient won't wear it! Squishy is under rated IMO. Robert
