Lawrence answered this in another post in the break room entitled 'creation' (Started by Bel and hijacked by me) Lawrence
You wrote "Evolution or rather "natural selection" is a FACT. As much a fact as any other in science. All scientific ideas are referred to as theories out of respect to the notion that you cannot "prove" any theory to be absolutely 100% true. You can only show a very high tendency to not be untrue. Hence "theory"of relativity, "theory of heliocentricy" the only exception to this is the field of mathematics or relationships that can be proven with calculus. Natural selection is only a "theory" in this respect, in all others it is a fact."

Hi L, I confidently predict that that line of questioning will take you fairly directly into how long it takes for an evolutionary change to occur, and how long homo sap has been walking on hard, flat surfaces ;D

Well. Whats the hard flat surface got to do with it?
perhaps the tied-truss of the arch is a good adaptation but susceptible to creep and strain? Like wise for the volar plate and propensity to digital deformity? Structures that make good grasping hands dont make perfect feet?

Hi Lawrence
I agree concerning the fact of evolution - it is demonstrable beyond question.
Concerning your question about refs., I can offer a few from the dim and distant past which are still of interest:
Early Firerunners of Man - LeGros Clarke Man's Place Among the Mammals - F.Wood-Jones Man's Place among the Anthropoids - W.K.Gregory Structure and Function as seen in The Foot. F Wood-Jones
Hope this is of help.
Did you record Dave's suggested programme? If so, I would be grateful for a copy.
All the best
Bill
